Ensuring that Texas kids get the best education tops Gov. Greg Abbott's list of priorities this legislative session. He says a top-notch education starts with quality pre-K, but providing state funding for an expanded pre-K initiative is going to require willing state lawmakers.

Many districts are investing millions of dollars in full-day pre-K with the hope of giving kids a chance to start their schooling on a level playing field.
